Laura Gong

Laura Gong is a senior at Palos Verdes High School. At a young age, she became passionate in math and competed heavily in middle school and high school. Besides math, she loves to sing and play basketball. She can't wait to teach others who are as excited about math as she is!

Zack Foltz

Zack Foltz graduated from PVIS and was co-president of the math club there. As a junior at Peninsula, he looks forward to helping others with math. He plays the French Horn, challenges himself academically at school, and likes to help others with their schoolwork. He has now been with SBMC for two years, having fun with helping primarily 4th graders and middle school students.

Collin Shiang

Collin Shiang is currently a freshman at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, in which he takes Algebra 2. He is very passionate about math and competed in many different competitions throughout elementary and middle school. Apart from his interest in math, he enjoys all kinds of sports, especially soccer. Collin is always happy to work with the upper elementary students to help them improve their math skills, and looks forward to meeting new kids in South Bay Math Circle!

Joseph Mina

Joseph Mina is a 16-year-old junior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. As a member of his school's math team since 6th grade, he has always enjoyed the subject and has found competitive math especially interesting. When not doing math, he enjoys reading, playing tennis, solving puzzles, and learning about science.

Aprajita Singh

My name is Aprajita Singh. I'm a freshman at Palos Verdes High School and I'm currently taking Algebra 2 Honors. I like math because it's challenging, it improves my problem solving skills, and it is useful in everyday situations. At South Bay Math Circle, I am the Vice President of the lower elementary group. I enjoy helping students understand tricky math concepts and making math fun for everyone.

ELANA HO

Elana Ho is a sophomore at Palos Verdes Peninsula High school. In addition to math, Elana is passionate about drawing and writing and is a member of her school's speech and debate team. She hopes to encourage interest in math among kids and to help them learn how to solve problems on their own.

Chelsea Yan

Chelsea Yan is a senior at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. She enjoyed practicing math and logic a lot. She earns a board position in Peninsula math team. Besides math, she loves to draw, read, and do martial art. She cannot wait to make others to gain interest in math too!

CYNTHIA HO

Hi, I am Cynthia Ho and I am taking Geometry 1 Honors in 8th grade at Palos Verdes Intermediate School. At PVIS, I joined both math club and the math club late group. I love math because you get a wonderful feeling of accomplishment after you find the solution to a problem. Besides math, I also really enjoy drawing, eating, and sleeping. I always love to learn more about math and I hope I can teach my students math too!
